A PLACE
WHERE EVERY CHILD
CAN FEEL LIKE THEY BELONG

TURNING PAIN INTO PURPOSE

It began with a tragedy on Lag BaOmer in 1999. A bus on its way to Meron overturned, taking the life of Frida Leah, a young educator.

After her passing, her brother chose to continue her work. He opened a kindergarten in her memory. That was the beginning of what later became the Ohal association.

Since then, every child’s smile at the Shefer Center carries that legacy forward: a direct continuation of Frida Leah’s light.

FROM FIRST STEPS
TO TODAY

At the Shefer Center, our work is guided by three core principles:

Trust in every child and family, and in their ability to move beyond limitations.

The belief that every child, at any starting point, can grow and make meaningful progress.

And a dedicated team committed to professionalism, innovation, and high-quality care.

We are here to see each child grow beyond their challenges,
to give every child a true sense of belonging,
and to create an inclusive home that supports not only the child, but the entire family.

We began with one kindergarten class

We grew into a school.

We currently support 150 children and their families
